Vent

The legacy product line has heater configurations for specific outdoor, indoor air, and direct vented applications. Never should a heater exhaust inside an enclosed space. The exhaust should always be routed to the outside.

The newer pre-mix burner product line became even easier. The heater is designed to provide the installation versatility in one configuration. Heaters are located indoors and vented to the outside the majority of installations, while outdoor installations are only recommended in warm climate regions where it does not typically snow.

Verify the exhaust termination is sufficiently away from operable doors and windows, eaves and overhangs, metering equipment, corners, and other intake and exhaust venting. Although an exhaust clearance table is provided with every installation manual, local code requirements, which supersede the national level requirements must be adhered to.

Protect the air intake from blockage, dirt, and contaminants. Combustion air is typically drawn from the installation area or a separate air intake pipe routed to the outside. Air can also be delivered through a mechanical air vent into the installation site. Insufficient combustion air contributes to EC90.
