Heater Monitors

The included thermostat remote has a secondary mode in which it can monitor the water flow and temperature milestones as it travels through the unit.

Table: Maintenance Monitor List

If you can only remember one topic in this training, then the navigation into the maintenance monitors and three channels in it can assist in the resolution of more than 90% of the service calls you will encounter. MM#14: hot water flow rate, MM#30: inlet water temperature, and MM#31: outlet water temperature.

The most common complaints are the heater doesn’t turn on and the heater doesn’t get to temperature. Immediately these two conditions can be verified from those maintenance monitors.

If the customer complains that the heater isn’t turning on and there is power to the remote, then we can verify MM#14 to verify the hot water demand is 0.5 gpm or greater.

If the customer complains that the water is lukewarm, then we can verify MM#31 to see what temperature water is created and leaving the water heater.
