The descale procedure is periodic maintenance the water heater requires in the absence of water treatment. Water quality and hardness are discussed in the owners guide and the frequency and descale procedure is outlined in the installation manuals. NOTE: The descale procedure for Noritz units requires the heater to be plugged into power; DO NOT unplug the heater from power.
